MERIDEN, CT (01-12-2012) - Sister Virgilia Zamah, a Tertiary Sister of St. Francis, from Cameroon is spending her winter break learning about the services of Synergic Systems in Meriden. Sister Virgilia is currently studying network systems administration at Western Technical College, La Crosse, Wisconsin, to prepare for her mission in Cameroon to link four hospitals and thirteen clinics for mutual communication and data sharing. As a member of one of the Franciscan Common Venture communities, Sister Virgilia requested to learn about web site design from Synergic Systems, a service of the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist. The Franciscan Common Venture comprises the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, La Crosse, Wisconsin; the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Francis, Wisconsin; the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist, Meriden, Connecticut and the Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis, Shisong, Cameroon, West Africa.
Sr. Virgilia has lived for the past year and a half with the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, La Crosse, Wisconsin while attending classes at Western Technical College. She says, "It has been a graced filled period of sharing my African culture and learning more about the American culture. Each encounter with the Sisters from the Franciscan Common Venture communities brings me joy and fulfillment. Many Sisters from three U.S. communities have visited Cameroon and carried out projects while Sisters from Cameroon have come to stay with the Sisters here in the U.S. to study."
She expressed her gratitude "to the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist for giving me this wonderful opportunity to experience another diversity of community life and to share our common Franciscanism."
